atlas air service buys insolvent charter airline in stuttgart

The renowned Atlas Air Service AG from Bremen takes over the insolvent charter company Stuttgarter Flugdienst GmbH (SFD). All its employees will also be taken over by the new investor.
Atlas Air Service is now based with offices and 2 charter aircraft at the General Aviation Terminal (GAT) of Stuttgart Airport: the Light-Jet Cessna Citation CJ3+ is designed for 6 passengers, the Midsize-Jet Cessna Citation Encore offers space for 8 persons on direct flights within Europe.
“We are very pleased to have successfully negotiated the takeover of the insolvent Stuttgarter Flugdienst GmbH! The long-term preservation of jobs and the continuation of charter flight operations for our customers without interruption had top priority. We now have a total of 9 aircraft at our locations in Bremen and Stuttgart. Of course we serve all airports in Europe”, says Nicolas von Mende, CEO Atlas Air Service AG.
The family-owned company was founded in 1970 and is characterised by a comprehensive range of services. In addition to charter, Atlas Air Service also offers sale, aquisition and maintenance of jets in its service center in Bremen and Augsburg.
