BLACKHAWK CELEBRATES FIRST CARAVAN XP42A UPGRADE SALE IN SOUTH AMERICA

Blackhawk, a leading provider of performance improvements for single- and twin-engine turboprop aircraft around the world, today announced one new XP42A performance upgrade system sale — the first in South America — to Trans Guyana Airways, a regional carrier based in Ogle, East Coast Demerara, Guyana. The company provides charter and scheduled flight service, operating a fleet of five 208B Caravans and three other twin-engine aircraft.
“This new XP42A upgrade marks what we believe will be the first of many Blackhawk XP42A sales for South America’s large Cessna Caravan fleet,” said Jim Allmon, Blackhawk President and CEO. “The Blackhawk team welcomes the opportunity to improve Caravan performance in South America and looks forward to adding many more satisfied customers.”
Earlier this year Blackhawk delivered a King Air F90 XP135A upgrade to Siderúrgica Valinho SA, CNPJ, a fabricator of iron and steel, located in Minas Gerais, Brazil. Siderúrgica Valinho selected Blackhawk’s XP135A upgrade to improve performance and reduce operating costs for its corporate aircraft during a scheduled time between overhaul.  Quick Aviação, a licensed Blackhawk service center in Goiânia, Brazil, completed the upgrade.
“We are very satisfied with the Blackhawk XP135A upgrade,” said Capt. Benicio Junior, Siderúrgica Valinho’s pilot. “The upgrade is excellent!  Now we are able to fly longer distances with lower operational costs. It performs as advertised.”
Blackhawk this week is exhibiting at the Latin American Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition (LABACE) in São Paulo, Brazil, Aug. 15-17. The company will host a reception to introduce its new South American sales and marketing representatives, Mauricio Melro and Lucimeida Pires Murta, at 3 p.m. on Aug. 15 at the exhibit, 4022.
Blackhawk, founded in 1999 in Waco, Texas, is a recognized aviation leader in providing engine performance solutions to the turboprop fleet. The company has the largest installed fleet of STC twin-engine turboprop engine upgrades, making Blackhawk the largest non-OEM buyer of new Pratt & Whitney turboprop engines in the world. A worldwide network of approved dealers and service support centers complements Blackhawk’s U.S. facilities.
