ROCKWELL COLLINS GOES 3D WITH INTERACTIVE MOVING MAP
Rockwell Collins demonstrated a prototype of the industry’s first 3D interactive moving map application for in-flight entertainment (IFE) systems. The new system, Airshow Interactive 3D, will be on display at Rockwell Collins’ booth #619 at the WAEA Annual Conference & Exhibition.
Airshow Interactive 3D is designed for the latest generation of IFE systems and will include full featured, realistic 3D interactive capabilities such as selection of multiple 3D map views, points of interest, flight status pages, and connecting gate information, in a choice of languages selectable at the seat. The application will also include the new Version 2 design recently announced for Airshow 4200 and 4200D.
“Airshow Interactive 3D sets a new benchmark for in-flight moving maps by offering the best of both worlds – stunning 3D map views with in-seat interactive capabilities – in one Airshow map application that can be hosted on an IFE system server,” said Andrew Mohr, director, Cabin Systems Marketing for Rockwell Collins. “This is really the ideal solution that our customers have been waiting for, now made possible with the latest generation IFE system hardware.”
Rockwell Collins announced additional updates to its Airshow Moving Map systems earlier this year. Read the complete release on Version 2 enhancements here: http://www.rockwellcollins.com/news/page11709.html
