NEW OFFICE & CHALLENGER 300 FOR AVCON JET
Austrian based Business Aviation company Avcon Jet AG (plc.) announced the opening of its new branch office in the Persian Gulf. The office is based in the capital of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Manama, and will be responsible for chartering out the business jets of the Austrian Business Aviation company to new worldwide customers with focus on the Middle East. Accompanied by that, Avcon Jet recently signed a partnership agreement with MAE Jet Charters WLL, a wholly-owned subsidiary of MENA Aerospace Enterprises WLL, both based in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The companies will cooperate on various activities. The new office and the collaboration are supported by a Bombardier Challenger 300, which fits perfectly in the market and will be based in Bahrain.
The branch office is located in Al Zamil Tower South, Manama. As a part of the innovative collaboration with MENA Aerospace, it will serve Middle East customers under the high level quality perceptions of the Austrian company with business jet charter flights. Apart from that, the two companies plan to enlarge the Middle East fleet and develop the market especially in the medium and large cabin segment.
For a perfect start of the business in the Persian Gulf, Avcon Jet bases its latest fleet addition, a Bombardier Challenger 300 in the region. Due to its size, the aircraft ideally fits into the Middle East market. The 2007 medium cabin trans-continental business jet carries up to eight passengers in double-club seating and a cabin with stand-up headroom. It has a non-stop range of 3,335nm (6,176km) by flying on a high cruise speed of Mach 0.82 or 882km per hour. With its maximum operating altitude of 44,000ft (13,411m) the Challenger 300 can climb up to heights where fuel efficiency is maximised and air traffic does not exist. The new aircraft will be ready for charter within the next weeks.
“We are extremely happy about the latest development of our business in the Middle East”, says Alexander Vagacs, CEO of Avcon Jet AG. “Not only that we have opened our first office in the region, we have signed an agreement with a very strong regional partner who knows the market and intends to grow with us, the fastest growing business aviation company in Europe. And further to that, the new branch office and the partnership with MENA Aerospace start with the best premises, with our first medium cabin business jet based in the region”, Vagacs goes on. He is sure that “the new office fits perfect in the line of our already existing branch offices in Europe, Russia and the US and shows that our way of acting as the private bank within the business aviation operators really fructifies.”
Ralph Eisenschmid, CEO of MENA Aerospace describes the collaboration as “a further milestone in the successful story of MAE Jet Charters WLL. Avcon Jet is by far the best partner for our business here in the Persian Gulf. They are young and hungry, but besides that, they know the business very well.” He is sure that “together we will be able to serve the market excellently.”
Avcon Jet CFO Christian Lang, who was mainly responsible for the deal with MENA Aerospace said : “Based on our long-term experience in the Middle East, we knew that a regional partner would be the best way to serve the market. And after working for many years in this business I have built up a very strong relationship to the region and its people and therefore it was possible to find the perfect partner for us.”
