MIDCOAST AVIATION EXPANDS MOBILE MAINTENANCE TEAMS
Midcoast Aviation has expanded its mobile maintenance team service. The teams of technicians are available to travel to customers throughout the United States to provide on-site maintenance services including inspections, non-destructive testing and engine and avionics troubleshooting.
“We have been providing this select service to customers on a by-request basis for years,” notes Morris Smith, Midcoast Aviation’s director, technical services. “Because operators have found the service so beneficial it just made sense to expand and let all our customers know mobile maintenance teams are available to come to them. It’s the same exceptional quality of service they get when they are in our service center, simply packaged ‘to go.’”
Midcoast Aviation’s mobile maintenance teams can assist at an aircraft’s home base of operation to supplement in-house maintenance staff. In 2009, Midcoast Aviation technician teams handled 57 different maintenance requests for various aircraft types, including Bombardier, Gulfstream, Falcon and Hawker. On-site inspection capabilities include:
Challenger 600 or 601 – 300-hour, 600-hour and 12/24/48 month
Challenger 604 - 400-hour, 800-hour and 12/24 month
Falcon (all models) – 4A, 4A+ and any B inspection (no C or Z multiples)
Global Express – 1A-6A, 1C and 2C
Gulfstream –dependent upon maintenance cards to be completed
Hawkers (all models) - 400-hour, 800-hour and 12/24 month
Midcoast Aviation also provides on-site non-destructive testing including ultrasonic, eddy current, bond testing and magnetic particle. X-ray inspections can be performed after obtaining required permits and permissions from the state in which the inspections will be performed. Operators should contact their regional sales managers for more information.
