LUFTHANSA TECHNIK OFFERS AIRCRAFT LEASING & TRADING SUPPORT
At the MRO Europe Lufthansa Technik is presenting for the first time its new service Aircraft Leasing & Trading Support. Aircraft (a/c) leasing models have become more and more attractive. With its new modular and individually selectable service portfolio Lufthansa Technik offers a single source and all-inclusive solution to aircraft owners and operators for each phase in the life of a plane.
Today a single-aisle a/c changes operator, and often owner, an average of four times in the course of its life. With its Aircraft Leasing & Trading Support Lufthansa Technik has now combined existing services in a new, all-embracing product that supports ideally the more dynamic behavior of the owners and operators of commercial aircraft.
The life cycle of an aircraft can be typically split into different phases, starting from assembly, operation and interim periods to dismantling at the end of its life span. With its a/c selection module Aircraft Leasing & Trading Support offers customer assistance for aircraft recommendation and specification right from the procurement. Lufthansa Technik's Aircraft Production Inspection Program is also able to ensure the optimal a/c production quality.
The Aircraft Transition module covers all relevant elements related to a change of the operator or owner. This includes a/c inspection or checking, updating and correcting the documentation. Also a precise definition of the work packages involved in the transition such as checks of cockpit and safety equipment or cabin and external paintwork is part of the service. Typical engineering services include the planning of modifications for cabin or cockpit. The transition ends with the aircraft handover to the new owner or operator.
The Interim Support & Remarketing module covers all the services that are required when an a/c is temporarily not flying. In this situation, Lufthansa Technik may take on the function of an interim operator and is responsible for the technical condition of the aircraft. The customers thereby benefits from Lufthansa Technik's CAMO (Continuing Airworthiness Management Organization) approval. The different services are reaching from repatriation of the aircraft, the correct procedure of parking and storage to assistance in remarketing.
At the end of the aircraft life Lufthansa Technik offers the possibility of realizing the remaining value vested in the retired aircraft instead of simply scrapping it. Lufthansa Technik's service includes the choice of a suitable dismantling company and the careful valuation of all the dismantled parts, the engines and landing gear. Subsequent overhaul or repair of the rejected parts, their certification and ensuing introduction into circulation as spare parts ensure that even the end of an aircraft's life can be profitable.
In addition to its more short-term focused Aircraft Leasing & Trading Support Lufthansa Technik offers also its Total Asset Support TAS, which bundles and optimizes the services of Total Technical Support TTS with asset and residual value related services over a perennial period.
