L-3 Avionics Systems announced that it will be giving away three of its new Trilogy™ Electronic Standby Instruments (ESIs) as part of a promotion at the upcoming EAA AirVenture. Three winners will each receive a unit valued at $15,000.
Show attendees can stop by the L-3 Avionics booth at AirVenture (Hangar C, Booth 3100) from Monday, July 27 at 9:00 a.m. through Wednesday, July 29 at 3:00 p.m. to obtain a free scratch-off ticket, while supplies last. The ticket offers an opportunity for anyone to scratch and win a free T-shirt, as well as an opportunity for aircraft owners and operators to scratch and win a free Trilogy ESI. In addition, aircraft owners and operators also have the chance to enter a second- and third-chance Trilogy drawing. The second-chance drawing will be held in the booth Wednesday at 3:30 p.m., and the third-chance drawing will be held at a separate event on Thursday. Entries for the drawings will be available in the booth, while supplies last. The winners will be given a certificate for a free Trilogy unit to be shipped to an L-3 Authorized Dealer for installation, and L-3 Avionics will cover basic installation costs.  Stop by the L-3 Avionics booth for more details and a chance to win.
About the Trilogy ESI
Trilogy makes the all-glass cockpit possible for the first time ever for piston and turbo-prop aircraft.
Designed as a backup for glass cockpit avionics, the Trilogy ESI is the first solid-state integrated standby system created specifically for Part 23 aircraft. It combines attitude, altitude, airspeed and optional heading data on one compact, digital unit.  In the event of a primary glass failure, Trilogy facilitates a smooth transition from primary to standby instrument because it provides a common format to today’s primary flight display. It enhances safety by reducing workload and making the transition easier for the pilot.
The Trilogy ESI fits easily into a standard 3–ATI mounting cutout. With an integrated air data computer, solid-state attitude sensor and optional external magnetometer, Trilogy presents accurate flight information independently of other systems. The model will be available through OEMs as well as for retrofit to modernize both glass and traditional cockpit configurations.
