Jet Aviation and its joint venture partners Deer Air and Reach Investment will open their new FBO facilities at Beijing’s Capital International Airport (PEK) next week, just in time for the Olympic Games 2008 which will begin August 8, 2008.

During the Games, the new FBO will provide in-house customs, immigration and quarantine services for crew and operations personnel while passenger handling will be provided by Beijing’s Capital Airport Holdings with whom the joint venture signed an agreement. The joint venture between Jet Aviation, Beijing-based Deer Air and Reach Investment was announced April 17, 2008 and the FBO was completed within a record time of less than six months.

When the first corporate and private jets arrive with dignitaries and executives from all over the world to visit the Olympic Games in Beijing next week, Jet Aviation and Deer Air’s FBO teams, manned with seasoned professionals from various global Jet Aviation FBO facilities together with Deer Air’s local staff, will be ready to make customers feel at ease immediately.

Jet Aviation and Deer Air will have over 70 ramp and maintenance specialists assigned during the Olympics to offer technical support for business aircraft operators traveling to PEK. This will include a dedicated team of 55 ramp personnel that will handle overnight parking for more than 80 business aircraft and about 15 maintenance technicians to provide line maintenance or AOG services. Passengers are taken care of by Capital Jet, a subsidiary of Capital Airport Holdings, with whom Jet Aviation and Deer Air signed an agreement for the duration of the Olympic Games. Jet Aviation’s FBO at PEK is expected to be fully operational, including full passenger amenities, by fall 2008.

“We are extremely proud that we were able to complete our FBO building within only six months. The Olympic Games are the perfect venue for us and our joint venture partners Jet Aviation and Reach Investment to begin to showcase our new executive terminal and to provide business aircraft operators with the highest level of support,” says Liu Zhiqiang, Chairman of Deer Jet, the business aviation subsidiary of Deer Air.

“During the Games our joint Beijing FBO operation will initially serve as a key operational gateway for crew and operations personnel while our ramp and technical specialists will facilitate access for customers to all major Olympics sporting venues and event locations,” adds Peter G. Edwards, CEO of the Jet Aviation Group. “We have been very fortunate with our joint ventures partner Deer Air and Reach Investment in meeting our ambitious targets together. We are ready to support the business aviation community during this important period with FBO and AOG services and expect to handle more than 200 arrivals.

When fully operational, the new 3,300 square meter (35,475 sq ft) state-of-the art three-story FBO building will offer 24/7 handling services and also provide AOG services and line maintenance. The executive terminal with its avant-garde and futuristic design will include exclusive conference rooms, executive and crew lounges, refreshment areas, weather briefing and flight planning accommodations, meeting rooms and client offices. Around the clock in-house border police and customs clearance, security checks, baggage screening and metal detection capabilities will allow for fast, secure passenger and baggage handling.
