GULFSTREAM SAVANNAH SERVICE CENTER AWARDED AMO CERTIFICATE FROM MAURITIUS
The Gulfstream Aerospace Savannah Service Center was recently awarded an Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO) certificate by the Republic of Mauritius. It is the first U.S. AMO approved by the island nation, which is located in the southwest Indian Ocean.
The designation means that any Gulfstream GIV or GV series aircraft registered under the Mauritius Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) can use the Gulfstream Savannah Service Center for maintenance, inspection and modification. The GV series comprises the Gulfstream GV, G550 and G500 aircraft. The GIV series comprises the GIV, GIV-SP, G450, G350, G400 and G300 aircraft.
The Gulfstream Savannah Service Center earned the AMO designation after representatives of the Mauritius DCA performed an on-site audit of the facility.
When expansion is completed by the end of the third quarter, 2009, the Savannah Service Center will be the largest purpose-built maintenance facility in the world for business jets. The 679,199-square-foot service center is located on 76.6 acres at the southwest corner of the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport.
