FLIGHTSAFETY INTERNATIONAL NBAA ANNOUNCEMENT SUMMARY
In anticipation of a busy NBAA next week, FlightSafety made numerous pre-event announcements, including:
· FlightSafety International celebrates the grand opening of the company’s newly expanded Gulfstream aircraft maintenance training facility in Savannah, Georgia. The Center is nearly twice the size of the existing facility and includes an aircraft hangar for hands-on practical training.
· FlightSafety International and Bombardier Aerospace announce that FlightSafety will design and manufacture its third Learjet 45 aircraft simulator. The simulator will be installed at FlightSafety’s Learning Center in Wichita, Kansas, which is located adjacent to the Learjet production facility.
· FlightSafety International plans to double the size of its Learning Center in Dallas/Fort Forth, Texas. Construction will begin later this year on the 100,000 square foot addition and will accommodate up to 24 full flight simulators once completed in early 2010.
· FlightSafety International and the International Business Aviation Council have co-developed a web-based Safety Management Systems course designed specifically for flight department personnel. The course covers hazard identification, risk management and accident/incident prevention and reporting and provides the framework to help flight department personnel understand their responsibilities in the implementation and maintenance of their organization's Safety Management System.
