FIRST SHOW SALE ANNOUCEMENT GOES TO HAWKER BEECHCRAFT
In a show devoid of order announcements two Middle East companies made headlines today with a deal for the region’s first Beechcraft Premier II and expansion announcements.
Amman Jordan based charter operator RayaJet and Ayla Aviation Academy in Aqaba signed a partnership agreement at the Middle East Business Aviation show in Dubai last year. They have expanded their relationship with an announcement that they aim to become a full services aviation provider later in 2009.
The Premier II will be delivered in 2011 and be available for charter and for training. The new entity will also build a maintenance hangar, initially to service Hawker Beechcraft aircraft and aims to take on a full flight simulator.
The order announcement is a huge contrast to last year’s EBACE, with billion dollar sales dominating headlines. However the news is good for the industry according to RayaJet’s chairman Nader Dajani. He said: “We are two young companies providing the finest quality service in the area.” RayaJet also announced a partnership with Saudi’s Air Route Aviation Services, giving it a valuable inroad into Saudi Arabia, the region’s largest market for charter services.
