The ExecuJet Aviation Group is ready to support visiting jets to the World Economic Forum (WEF) later this month. It has once again secured an agreement with Dübendorf Airport (LSMD), the military-owned airport north east of Zurich, as it prepares to handle private business jets flying in for the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland (January 28 – February 1).
With Zurich Airport’s limited parking for business aviation arrivals and its restrictive slot allocation system, ExecuJet’s Zurich FBO has pre-booked landing slots at Zurich Kloten and arranged parking at nearby Dübendorf. Last year ExecuJet handled a record 325 private movements during WEF and it is anticipating a similar or even bigger number this year, according to ExecuJet Managing Director Central Europe Peter Hartmann.
During the five-day meeting, some 2,500 participants from 91 countries will gather in Davos. Around 75% are business leaders drawn principally from the Forum's members – 1,000 of them from the largest companies around the world and across economic sectors. ExecuJet is gearing up to host those VIP delegations arriving by private jets - including overseas Ministers and Presidents.  A number of countries, especially China, are sending a greater number of delegations to Davos this year.
ExecuJet has secured parking at Dübendorf for up to 15 aircraft at any one time. (Stop overs at Zurich without confirmed parking are restricted to three hours.) Dübendorf is open daily from 07.00 until 20.00, with an extension on request up until 22.00.
Parking at Dübendorf can be booked in advance through ExecuJet’s FBO fbo.lszh@execujet.eu or fax +41 44 876 5657 and the company will have representatives on the ground to look after flight crews, de-ice aircraft and handle all ground transportation requests bookable in advance through ExecuJet.
“We had a very good experience with the team at Dübendorf Airport last year and recommend it to clients wholeheartedly,” said Peter Hartmann. “Dignitaries, VIPs and celebrities will be traveling to Switzerland for the WEF and our Zurich FBO team is primed to handle all their requirements in order to make their stay enjoyable. Davos is close to the renowned winter sport resorts including Lech, Zürs, Arosa, Laax and Lenzerheide so we expect that visitors will stay on and enjoy some leisure time,” he said.
