EMBRAER TAKES PHENOM 100 TO SUN ‘N-FUN
Embraer will exhibit the Phenom 100 entry level jet at the 35th Sun ‘n Fun (www.sun-n-fun.org), April 21-26, at Lakeland Linder Regional Airport, in Lakeland, Florida, United States.
“Sun ‘n Fun Fly-In is one of general aviation’s major events. As a key player in the Executive Jets business, Embraer is thrilled to bring the actual Phenom 100 to this exhibition,” said Ernest Edwards, Embraer Vice President, Marketing and Sales, USA, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean – Executive Jets. “We started taking orders in October 2005. Today, early Phenom 100 buyers are taking delivery of
their clean-sheet design aircraft, and we are proud to say that their positive feedback is testimony that the aircraft has exceeded our customers’ expectations.”
For three consecutive years after the project was announced, in May 2005, attendees saw the Phenom 100 jet in a full-size mock-up. At this year’s exhibition, visitors will be able to experience the plane, itself, with its premium comfort, elegance and cutting-edge avionics, in the static display, located at 4175 Medulla Road, in Lakeland
Certified by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), in December 2008, the
executive jet’s results matched, or surpassed, all of its original requirements. Its projected range of 1,160 nautical miles was exceeded by 18 nautical miles, takeoff climb performance in hot-and-high conditions was significantly improved by more than 350 nautical miles of extra range. Landing distance was reduced by 301 feet, the final top speed of 390 knots is 10 knots faster than originally announced, and fuel consumption was improved by up to 3.6%.
The entry level Phenom 100 jet is a part of Embraer’s product line for the business aviation market, whose portfolio also includes the light Phenom 300, the midlight Legacy 450, the midsize Legacy 500, the super midsize Legacy 600, and the ultra-large Lineage 1000 jets.
