Dassault Falcon recently received the authority to act as Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for its Little Rock Completion Center and Dassault Aircraft Services – Little Rock facility. The ODA gives Dassault the authority to approve Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) on behalf of the FAA and replaces the older Designated Alteration Station (DAS) method of approval.
The approval is a culmination of many years of effort and preparation by Dassault’s teams and close collaboration with the FAA. "This authority is granted only to those organizations that can demonstrate a high level of experience and a culture that’s committed to safety,” said John Rosanvallon, President and CEO of Dassault Falcon.  "And it’s not only a more efficient process for Dassault and the FAA, our customers benefit too because there is less aircraft downtime.”
As part of the new approval process, Dassault was required to develop its own procedures and processes for STC certification which then underwent a thorough review by the FAA. Also required by the FAA is an approved procedures manual and training program, which includes both initial and recurrent training.
Dassault’s ODA organization has more than 30 employees who had undergone initial training in 2009.  Dassault is also in the process of seeking approval for ODA status at its Wilmington facility, and plans to pursue Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) and Major Repair and Alterations (MRA) ODA approvals in the future.
