Comtran International, Inc., the Texas-based aviation company known best for its MD-80 Series Hush Kits and Head-of-State Aircraft Completions, announced last week that it received EASA Certification for its Revolution Series 12-passenger VIP interior conversion for the Dornier 328-300 Jet. This approval followed the FAA certification of the Multiple STC for this retrofit, and will allow for Comtran to sell the aircraft to operators in Europe and other regions where EASA Certification is required. Comtran owns and leases several Dornier 328  Jets and Turboprops, and concurrently offers the Revolution Series 328 VIP aircraft as a low cost alternative to the expensive large-cabin business aircraft.
Commenting on the advantages of the Revolution Series conversion, Jordan Jaffe, President of Comtran said, "The Revolution Series 328 is a truly unique aircraft. It carries twelve passengers in unsurpassed combination of comfort, style, and economy. With the added benefit of seating for two cabin attendants, it provides all the advantages of a large-cabin aircraft at a fraction of the cost. The aircraft can be bought for the price of a used Citation XLS, and has an operating cost similar to a Lear 60 although the cabin is larger than the Falcon 900."
Comtran already has orders for its next two delivery positions, but Jaffe went on to say that a custom build Revolution Series conversion can be delivered from a "green" airplane in four months. The aircraft are sold through Comtran's sister company, Resort Jet Center, and their executive conversions of the DO 328 JET will all be completed at their modification center located on Horseshoe Bay Airport in Horseshoe Bay, Texas, just north of San Antonio. Commenting on their completion facility Jaffe said, "We have assembled a team of highly experienced technicians and craftsmen to support these conversions.  In addition to our world-class Completion Center facilities, our ownership of the Horseshoe Bay Resort, Hotel and Golf Courses gives us a truly unique way to host and care for our customers."
