26/04/2016MTU MAINTENANCE RENEWS CONTRACT WITH MAJOR CUSTOMER STATOIL

MTU Maintenance, one of the world’s leading providers of maintenance services for commercial engines and industrial gas turbines (IGTs), has extended its contract with Norwegian oil and gas company Statoil for its  General Electric LM industrial gas turbines. The seven-year agreement valued at more than 200 million U.S. dollars. Under the deal, MTU Maintenance will be responsible for the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) for parts of the largest commercial LM IGT fleet in the world,  which is operated offshore on Statoil’s oil platforms.

26/04/2016TEXTRON AVIATION EXPANDS LINE MAINTENANCE OFFERING WITH NEW BREMEN SITE

Textron Aviation Inc., a Textron Inc. (NYSE:TXT) company, today announced the opening of its newest European line maintenance station in Bremen, Germany, further enhancing its service offerings for Citation, King Air and Hawker operators in Germany and throughout Europe. The company is leveraging facility space from Lufthansa Flight Training’s Bremen facility to bring line maintenance to customers in the northern region of Germany.

25/04/2016RUAG DORNIER 228 DEMONSTRATOR PERFORMS EMERGENCY SAR OPERATION

The RUAG Aviation Dornier 228 demonstrator performed an emergency search and rescue operation off the coast of Praia, Cape Verde, on 11 April 2016. The aircraft was contacted for assistance due to its renowned capabilities for low altitude flight and real-time situational awareness. The kayaker was rescued successfully, despite prevailing visibility issues. The SAR mission was initiated 7 hours into the aircraft’s non-stop return flight to Europe, from Natal, Brazil; this following the completion of the Dornier 228’s premier Latin America Demo Tour. The RUAG Aviation aircraft returned to its home base at Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany, on 12 April 2016.
