FlairJet, a new private jet charter operator, plans to launch operations from Oxford Airport, UK from May 2009, flying an initial two Embraer Phenom 100 Very Light Jets. The company’s backers also have further lease options for Year 2010 delivery. FlairJet’s first purchased aircraft arrives in 2012.

Eclipse Aviation,manufacturer of the world's first very light jet (VLJ), announced that the Russian State Bank Vnesheconombank (VEB) Supervisory Board, chaired by Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, has approved the construction of a factory in Ulyanovsk, Russia to assemble the Eclipse 500 Jet.

Raisbeck announced the certification of its new 10,500 pound Maximum Takeoff Gross Weight (MTOW), further increasing the benefits to operators of the C90 EPIC Performance System. The Gross Weight Increase (GWI) is now available for installation on Beechcraft C90 series aircraft, serial number LJ-527 and subsequent, including the latest C90GT. The aircraft’s zero fuel weight is also increased to 9,000 pounds, removing any operational loading restrictions.

Eclipse Aviation announced its reaction to the DayJet Corporation’s elimination of most of its workforce and termination of its commercial air taxi operations. DayJet has taken delivery of 28 Eclipse 500's from Eclipse Aviation.
